David J Evans, Principal MDesRCA, MCSD An innovative, tenacious and practical designer with more than three decades experience.
Sole owner of Design Resolution, Toronto, David is a vocational furniture and product designer with a unique combination of creative, making and design leadership skills and a track record of achieving extraordinary, highly functional results for his clients. David’s work is informed by his passion for sculpture and film, extensive travels and genuine delight in appropriate detailing. Notably, he has a special talent for combining practicality with modern furnishings in innovative ways, producing intriguing solutions that are subtly rich with history, yet fresh, functional and contemporary. Between graduating from The Royal College of Art in 1980 with a Masters Degree In Furniture Design, and Professional Membership to the Chartered Society of Designers and founding his own company in 2001, David honed his ability to develop innovative concepts, exacting working drawings and proving many of his designs in a pract1cal hands on manner by often producing full working prototypes and finished furniture. Working as both an in-house designer and freelancer his design sensibility was further informed by extensive design work for The Crown Suppliers - Palaces and Galleries Group - designing the patented (IKON) display case system for national museums and office furniture systems. And with the The John Lewis Partnership designing both retail stores for Waitrose Food and Home and specializing in furniture and fixtures for retail and point of sales use. |
